Say hello to
Dr. Kate Shoger
I am a native Cleveland East-sider, Heights resident, mom to two little ladies, local foodie, wife to my high school sweetheart, yogi, lover of the great outdoors, and doctorate-level physical therapist.
I am passionate about helping my fellow community members feel their best so they can live their fullest lives. Whether that means running a half or walking your block, CrossFit WODs or lifting your toddler, power yoga or planting flowers: I’m your gal. I am a detail-oriented problem solver, and my combined orthopedic AND pelvic health knowledge base allows me to utilize a full body approach as we work together.
In addition to my doctorate in physical therapy, I am a residency-trained and board-certified orthopedic clinical specialist and a pregnancy and postpartum corrective exercise specialist. I am also trained and certified in the McKenzie Method of spine treatment, as well as integrative dry needling. I have completed advanced coursework on the TMJ and jaw pain as well as additional pelvic health coursework from the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute and the Institute of Clinical Excellence.
Life is busy, I can certainly relate. You are worthy of the investment in your health to start feeling and moving better, and my goal is to make that process as convenient and efficient as possible for you. If you’re feeling sidelined from the activities that keep your life fun,
I’ve got your back.

I am a highly-trained, compassionate, and fun-loving professional who feels grateful every day to do this work. I pride myself on care that is convenient, thorough, holistic, efficient, and empathetic.
Our treatment philosophy is designed to get you back to living your life fully – with as few sessions as possible.
Your treatment plan will always follow three simple steps:Step 1: Calm symptoms down.
We generally start with a combination of tailored exercise, skilled manual therapy, joint mobilization, soft tissue release, and/or dry needling to help calm symptoms down dramatically and open the door for more comfortable movementStep 2: Build activity tolerance.
Once discomfort has taken a back seat, we will build you back up to the demands of whatever activity it is that you’re missing out on with individualized and efficient mobility and strength exercises to get you back to doing what you love.Step 3: Prevent recurrence.
We’re going to dig into any daily habits, movement faults, or strength deficits that may have contributed to this issue in the first place. Is there anything we need to change or add to prevent this from happening again? We will figure that out, too, and empower you to maintain sustainable progress. If you’re ready to work together and get back to doing what you love, start by clicking here.

Our treatment model allows us to deliver an experience that is 100% tailored to you and your life. Every session is one-on-one with me, a doctorate-level physical therapist. Sessions can be conveniently scheduled at our office in Cleveland Heights, in your home, or virtually. Communication with me via email or text between sessions is encouraged to trouble shoot as needed and maximize progress.
My goal is to make this process as simple, efficient, and enjoyable as possible. If you’ve ever had physical therapy before, I can promise you that this experience will feel different (in the best way possible).

Full Bloom Physical Therapy & Wellness is an out-of-network provider, which allows us to deliver the highest possible level of care to our clients. We are not restricted by insurance standards lead to short sessions, overlapped sessions with other patients, reliance on aids/techs, and a capped number of sessions; instead, each of our sessions will be one-on-one and your plan of care will be 100% dictated by your life and your goals, not your insurance company. Payment is due in full at time of service, and cost will always be fully transparent with no surprise bills after the fact. We can accept HSA and FSA cards as form of payment.
Most insurance providers have out-of-network coverage, and if you are interested in submitting for direct reimbursement we are happy to provide you with a detailed superbill after sessions that can be submitted.

You do not need a referral or prescription to utilize our care.
Ohio law allows direct access to physical therapy services, which means you can come straight to us instead of heading to your MD first. We are happy to keep your MD in the loop with what we’re working on if you wish! -
During this hour long session, I will listen to your story, current concerns/symptoms, and goals. I’ll ask what will probably seem like a lot of follow up questions to help narrow down what is going on.
I will then assess your posture, range of motion, how you walk, how you breathe, muscular strength, muscular tension, and joint mobility. I will let you know what I am seeing throughout the exam. Based on findings, we will collaborate to establish an individualized plan of care to tackle your concerns and achieve your goals.
We will start treatment on day one, likely with some combination of manual therapy and tailored exercise. You will be given an efficient home program to complete in a way that fosters progress and fits into your daily life.
Please wear clothing you are comfortable moving in!

Typically, each session is scheduled for a full hour; however, as a concierge physical therapy practice, session length and frequency are designed with your needs and schedule in mind.
Session frequency and number of sessions will depend on the severity of your condition as well as your goals. We will work together to determine the ideal plan totally individualized to you. -
Absolutely not. If you are seeking care for a pelvic health condition, an internal pelvic floor assessment is just one tool that can be utilized to gather information. It is never a requirement and we are in full support of your decision to decline this exam if you wish to do so.

If you’re not sure if your condition is something that we treat, don’t hesitate to reach out and ask! If it doesn’t seem like we’re the right fit for you and your needs, we will do our best to refer you on to another recommended physical therapist in the area. Contact us to learn more.
